Annual Community Kwanzaa Celebration

The Catalyst Mbongi organizations present the Community Kwanzaa celebration, held Monday, December 26 @ 6 p.m. at Olympia Learning Center, cafeteria, 621 Bluff Road. The keynote speaker is author, lecturer and independent egyptologist Anthony T. Browder, well-known for his book, Nile Valley Contributions to Civilization.

He is the first African American to lead an excavation in Egypt where he oversees the excavation of the tomb of Karakhamun.

  • Day 1: Umoja (Unity)
  • Vie for chance to win one of Browder's coveted historical timelines. The timeline features african cultural and political accomplishments since the beginning of recorded history. 
  • Event will also feature, drumming, dancing, vendors and other activities
  • Karamu (feast) sponsored by the South Carolina Council for African American Studies (SCCAAS) and the Catalyst Mbongi organizations
