African America Studies will host celebrated academics and graphic artists John Jennings and Damian Duffy who are set to discuss the creative process behind their book Kindred: A Graphic Novel Adaptation.

Jennings and Duffy updated this 35 year old spellbinding, literary science masterpiece written by Octavia E Butler, through a graphics novel lens.This celebrated, critically acclaimed work tells the story of Dana, a young black woman who is suddenly transported from her home in 1970s California to the pre–Civil War South. FLYER
